Happenings Overnight

This post has been temporarily disrupted due to technical difficulties...and to alleviate the concerns of my mother.
Regularly scheduled updates will continue shortly.

A New Look

Things might look different around here - the colors they are a changin'. The black background makes the pictures pop a bit more (I was jealous of the sharp look over at the northernbaby blog) so the background is changed. The colors are still being looked at and decided upon, but for now enjoy the new look of "Don't Know Jack!".
If you have any opinions on the colors - if the text is easier or harder to read, things look a bit off, etc. - let me know!

Hot Summer Days and Old Trucks

"You'll never catch me, Copper!"
"Breaker, breaker...Anyone got their ears on?"
I would sit on the seat
And stretch my feet out to the pedals
Smiling like a hero that just received his
medal
It was just an old hand-me-down Jeep
With 3 speed on the floor
And a dent in the door
A young boy, 2 hands on the wheel
I can't replace the way it, made me feel
And I would press that clutch and I'd keep it
right
He'd say a lil' slower son you're doin' just
fine
Just a dirt road with trash on each side
But I was Mario Andretti
When daddy let me drive

I Want to Soar Like an Eagle

Step 1. Take one perfectly good airplane...

Step 2. Provide large amount of thrust....

Step 3. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! (Catching plane is not recommended)

The Truck

A quick update on Jackson's and Daddy's project.
The truck is close to ready for inspection with just minor details remaining. Jackson does a great job of helping turn wrenches and screwdrivers, but runs for the house anytime Daddy gets ready to start the truck. The unmuffled exhaust bothers him, I think! The truck made the trip to the 7th Annual NovaJeepers Show and Shine this past Saturday. While there is not much show and certainly no shine, the 'ol girl managed to place Third in the fullsize Jeep category which included twelve newer and well equipped Cherokees and Grand Cherokees. So people are digging the old iron!
In the picture below, Daddy tests out the suspension articulation of the old truck. Not much flex there, but still a fine truck indeed!
